GAT instructor Noe Acosta attended Red Dot Sight (RDS) Pistol Instructor school at CSAT (Combat Shooting and Tactics.). CSAT is owned and operated by Paul Howe, a former Delta Force operator who participated in the “Black Hawk Down” event in Mogadishu. More and more, we see officers and guardians using RDS optics in their every day carry pistol.  Acosta learned the finite skills to operate the RDS system, and how to teach others to utilize this system. Acosta also “Walks the Walk.”  He was presented with several awards for his distance and accuracy precision during this training.  Several of our GAT instructor cadre possess instructor certifications in a variety of disciplines from CSAT. We are humbled that Acosta is part of our GAT instructor cadre.   

GAT instructor Ian Baker completed the Tactical Night Vision Company (TNVC, Inc) Night Fighter 101 training. Night Fighter 101 is designed to arm students with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of night vision operation and use. Beginning with gear choice and setup, the class provides students with the tools for learning to safely and effectively move, shoot, and communicate in low-light / no-light environments. Students participate in a variety of movement, stalking, and live-fire exercises aimed at producing a core competency with night vision goggles, lasers, and white light. 

All of our instructors are highly trained and motivated to be at their best at all times! 

On September 11th, Sgt Mares and Cpl Salazar participated in the San Antonio "9/11 110 Memorial Climb." Sgt. Mares climbed 110 flights of stairs in honor of New York Port Authority Police Officer Maurice Vincent Barry, and Cpl Salazar scaled this daunting height in honor of New York Port Authority Police Officer Donald Foreman.  Police officers customarily climb in their uniform.  Our two GAT instructors honored the fallen by participating in full SWAT gear.
